Atef Ghobrial is a Professor of the Practice of Arabic at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Eastern, Slavic, and German Studies. He holds a Ph.D. alongside degrees from Cairo University and Boston University. His research focuses on translation of religious texts, discourse analysis, and sociolinguistics, with notable work on Coptic Orthodox and Christian theological literature.
He teaches a range of Arabic courses including Elementary to Advanced Arabic, Business Arabic, and Newspaper & Media Arabic.
