Astrid Møller Baattrup

Astrid Møller Baattrup is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, affiliated with the reNEW center and Jensen Lab. Her work investigates molecular mechanisms in ulcerative colitis using advanced cellular models.

Her research centers on inflammatory bowel disease pathogenesis, specifically how vitamin D receptor and JAK/STAT signaling pathways regulate colonic epithelial cell behavior. This interdisciplinary work bridges gastroenterology, immunology, and molecular biology to identify novel therapeutic targets for ulcerative colitis.

Recent 2024 publications demonstrate consistent focus on signaling dysregulation in ulcerative colitis, employing stem cell models and molecular profiling to uncover disease mechanisms with translational potential.

As a core member of Jensen Lab at reNEW, she contributes to a collaborative team advancing regenerative medicine approaches for gastrointestinal disorders through stem cell biology and disease modeling.
