Asti Sherring is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University's Humanities Research Centre (HRC). She currently serves as Manager of Changeable and Digital Collections at the National Museum of Australia and as a Time-Based Media Art Consultant at Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Previously, she held senior roles at The Art Gallery of New South Wales (2015–2020), Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney. Sherring is pursuing a PhD at the University of Canberra exploring contemporary conservation theories and custodial roles in a post-digital era.

Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical museum methodologies.
Publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to preserving dynamic artworks, addressing technical, ethical, and philosophical dimensions of conservation. She actively participates in professional roundtables to advance sector-wide strategies for managing evolving cultural materials.
