Asta Fung is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology at the School of Allied Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences, Charles Sturt University. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she specializes in Head and Neck, voice, and objective swallow assessment and management, gained through senior clinician roles in Sydney and Melbourne teaching hospitals. She served as a senior Speech Pathologist in regional NSW until early 2025 and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Newcastle.

Her research focuses on breathing training interventions for individuals with chronic pain and gastrointestinal conditions, including a final-year PhD project on telehealth-based breathing interventions. Additional projects involve spinal cord injury hospital readmission in Western NSW Health and breathing exercises for gastrointestinal conditions.
She contributes to the Master of Speech Pathology program through subjects such as SPH511, SPH512, SPH530, and SPH533, emphasizing clinical reasoning and sensory-motor skill assessment.
