Asif Ali

Dr. Asif Ali is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the School of Cancer Sciences, University of Glasgow. His research focuses on cancer genetics, molecular pathology, and clinical diagnostics, with a particular emphasis on cancer in South Asian populations.

His research spans multiple disciplines including cancer genetics, molecular biology, diagnostic pathology, and public health. He has contributed to understanding mutational spectra in breast cancer patients from Pakistan, biomarker development, and diagnostic accuracy for conditions such as tuberculous lymphadenitis and pancreatic cancer.

Over the past decade, Dr. Ali has published extensively on hereditary cancer (BRCA1/BRCA2 mutations), pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (microRNA-21 as a prognostic marker), and translational research in cancer diagnostics. His work often involves multi-center collaborations and clinical validation studies.

He has also explored public health implications of lifestyle factors, such as smokeless tobacco use, and contributed to medical education research through peer-assisted learning studies.
