About
Ashutosh Tiwari is a Professor of Chemistry at Michigan Technological University and Faculty Fellow for Research Integrity. His research program investigates protein misfolding and aggregation mechanisms in neurodegenerative disorders.
The Tiwari laboratory employs biochemical, biophysical, and cell biology approaches to characterize protein instability in conditions including ALS, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's diseases. Research goals focus on connecting in vitro protein aggregation phenomena with cellular toxicity mechanisms in neurodegenerative contexts.
Recent publications develop novel fluorescent probes for cellular imaging applications and examine molecular mechanisms of amyloid formation. Instrumentation includes vibrational spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and advanced microscopy techniques to characterize protein structures and interactions.
