Ashton Anderson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science, where he leads the Computational Social Science Lab. His work intersects AI, data science, and societal impact, examining topics from algorithmic fairness to online behavior.
Research investigates human-AI collaboration, social media dynamics, and computational ethics. Recent projects evaluate LLMs' impact on creativity and social media's agenda-setting power. His group develops methods to audit algorithmic systems for bias and alignment.
