Ashley Schmidt

Dr. Ashley N. Schmidt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her research focuses on K-12 mathematics education, including educational policies, mathematics standards, and the interplay between policy and practice in instructional improvement.

  • PhD in Mathematics Education from University of Central Florida
  • MEd in Elementary Mathematics Education (minor in Middle Grades Mathematics Education) from East Carolina University
  • BA in Elementary Education from University of North Carolina Wilmington

She actively contributes to the academic community through publications in national journals, presentations at conferences, and service on the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) conference committee. Her prior teaching experience spans elementary and middle school mathematics in public schools.
