Ashley Anderson

Ashley Anderson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism & Media Communication at Colorado State University (CSU), part of the College of Liberal Arts. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and specializes in science communication, environmental communication, and social media's role in public engagement with science. Her research explores humor and incivility in digital media, community partnerships for health/environmental risk communication, and public resilience during extreme weather events.

Dr. Anderson’s work bridges academia and practice, collaborating with organizations to address issues like wildfire smoke, pandemic disease, and workplace safety. She is a member of CSU’s Center for Science Communication and serves as Vice Head of the Communicating Science, Health, Environment, and Risk Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
