Ashlee Barnes

Dr. Ashlee Barnes is an Assistant Professor at the McAuley School of Nursing, University of Detroit Mercy. She has educated nursing students since 2011 at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her courses include Population Health & Epidemiology, Family Nurse Practitioner Practicum, Advanced Health Assessment, Mental Health Nursing, and Advanced Theory and Knowledge Development for Clinical Nursing Practice.

Her research focuses on mental health, particularly mindfulness and student mental wellness, cultural diversity, student engagement, and innovative teaching strategies. She values Detroit Mercy's student community for their eagerness to learn and commitment to community service.
