Ashfaque Talpur

Dr. Ashfaque Talpur is a Research Fellow at the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery, University of Sheffield. He holds a BSc, MPH, and PhD in Nursing and Midwifery, completed in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Tony Ryan and Dr. Sharron Hinchliff. His work focuses on elder mistreatment, social isolation, and palliative care, particularly among BAME communities.

His recent publications address staff/patient experiences in overcrowded hospitals, early career nursing leadership, elder mistreatment in Pakistani diasporas, and palliative care development in Indonesia. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and received funding from the Burdett Trust for Nursing for research on loneliness in BAME communities. His methodological expertise includes grounded theory and qualitative synthesis.
