Arthur Vido is a Lecturer and researcher at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin, holding a PhD in History. He is participating in the EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales) Visiting Professor program at the invitation of Anne Lafont (CRAL/CEHTA).
His research interests include:

Vido has authored, co-authored, directed, and co-directed numerous publications including books and scientific articles published internationally across Germany, Benin, Canada, Ivory Coast, France, Moldova, Portugal, Senegal, and Togo. His work demonstrates a multidisciplinary approach to West African historical studies with particular focus on social and cultural aspects.
He presented two lectures in February 2024:
- February 1, 2024: History of women in Benin during the 18th century at the National Institute of Art History (INHA)
- February 22, 2024: Research perspectives on the history of the kingdom of Danxomè (Dahomey), 17th-19th centuries at EHESS, focusing on biography, monograph and food
