Arthur McKeown is an Associate Professor of Asian Studies at Carleton University and serves as the Director of the Buddhist Studies Program in India. Since joining Carleton in 2016, he has specialized in teaching courses related to Buddhist traditions, languages, and cultural studies.

His research interests include Buddhist philosophy, meditation traditions, and contemporary Buddhist culture in South Asia. He offers courses covering elementary and intermediate Hindi and Tibetan languages, field methods and ethics, Buddhist philosophy, and meditation practices. As the program director, he oversees academic initiatives connecting Carleton students with Buddhist studies in India.
