Dr. Arthur J. DiFuria is Professor and former Department Chair of Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he has taught since 2010. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Delaware, complemented by degrees from Temple University (M.A., B.A.).
His scholarship focuses on Northern Renaissance and Mannerist art, particularly the works of Maerten van Heemskerck, with specialized interests in artistic responses to antiquity, ruins in visual culture, and cross-cultural exchanges between Northern and Southern European traditions. His 2019 monograph 'Maerten van Heemskerck's Rome' examines Netherlandish engagement with classical ruins.
