Arthur Chadwick

Dr. Arthur Chadwick serves as Research Professor of Biology and Geology and co-Director of the Dinosaur Science Museum and Research Center at Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU), where he has been faculty for over 42 years. His career spans multiple institutions including Loma Linda University and the University of Oklahoma, with current affiliations including Research Associate at Geoscience Research Institute.

His educational background includes:

• Postdoctoral in Geology, University of California (1975-1978)
• Ph.D. from University of Miami (1969, With Honors)
• B.A. in Biology from La Sierra College (1965)

Chadwick's research focuses on paleontological taphonomy, geological column analysis, and fossil preservation mechanisms, with significant fieldwork at major sites including the Pisco Formation in Peru, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, and Cretaceous dinosaur bonebeds. His interdisciplinary work bridges geology, paleontology, and philosophy of science, particularly examining science-faith intersections. His publications reveal consistent themes in vertebrate taphonomy, catastrophic deposition evidence, and critical analyses of abiogenesis theories.

His scientific contributions have been recognized through multiple awards including Professor of the Year (1987), Zapara Award for Excellence in Teaching (1989), and Educator of the Year from Keene Chamber of Commerce (2007). Chadwick directs the Earth History Research Center and teaches interdisciplinary courses including Philosophy of Science and The Dinosaurs.
