Assistant Professor Ioannis Arsenakis is affiliated with the Laboratory of Anatomy & Physiology of Farm Animals at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUA). He holds a DVM from AUA (2010), an M.Sc. in Animal Biosciences from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh (2012), and a PhD from Ghent University (2018). His career includes roles as a swine veterinarian in Ireland, Belgium, and the UK, focusing on health management and production optimization in pig farming.
Research interests span pig health management, vaccine efficacy, immunology, and animal welfare. He has published 14 peer-reviewed papers (6 as first author) and 22 abstracts, with 16 industry/EU-funded research projects. Key topics include Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae control, autogenous vaccines, nutritional additives, and welfare audits.
