Arno R. Lodder is a Full Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam's Department of Transnational Legal Studies and a core member of the Amsterdam Law & Technology Institute. His research focuses on cyber law, data protection, privacy, AI ethics, and e-commerce regulation. He has supervised 12 PhD theses and serves as a judge at the Amsterdam District Court. Lodder has authored/co-authored over 30 books, including Cyberlaw in the Netherlands and EU Regulation of E-commerce.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on Internet Law, AI Governance, and Cybersecurity within the university's Dutch and English legal programs. His ancillary activities include roles at SURF (Dutch educational network) and membership in international legal committees.
