Arkadiusz Janicki, Professor at the University of Gdańsk, serves as Dean of the Faculty of History and Director of the Institute of History. His research focuses on 19th–20th century Baltic history, Polish minorities in the Baltic provinces, Baltic Germans, and academic institutions in the Russian Empire.
- Education: PhD in History (University of Gdańsk, 2001), MA in History and Law (University of Gdańsk, 1996).
Research spans Polish student movements in Riga and Tartu, Courland and Baltic provinces under Russian rule, cultural/political identity, and Baltic-German relations. His publications include monographs on Baltic Polish students, Courland's political dynamics, and Baltic cultural life.
Awards include multiple Rektor's Awards and the Wacław Felczak and Henryk Wereszycki Award. He has received grants from the National Science Center and the Ministry of Education.
