Arkadev Ghosh is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Duke University, affiliated with the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on Development Economics, Political Economy, and the intersection of Religion and Culture with economic outcomes. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia (2022), an M.S. from the London School of Economics (2016), and an M.A. from the University of Edinburgh (2015). Prior to Duke, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the briq institute (2022-2023).
His work explores topics such as kinship networks' impact on economic development, the role of religious divisions in production technology, and experimental interventions to improve social cohesion. He has been awarded grants including 'Identity Hiding and Inequality: Experimental Evidence from India' (2024-2026, funded by the University of Chicago).
