Aris Angouridis

Aris Angouridis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the School of Medicine, European University Cyprus. He specializes in Internal Medicine and Pathophysiology of Lipid Metabolism. His academic qualifications include a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina (2017) and a Degree in Medicine from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2007).

His research focuses on lipid metabolism, statins efficacy, diabetes risk, and inflammation-related disorders. Notable projects include clinical trials comparing statin therapies and investigating adrenal aging effects on stress responsiveness. He has been affiliated with institutions such as the Royal Free Hospital, London (Honorary Clinical Research Fellow, 2014–2015) and the University Hospital of Ioannina, Greece.

Dr. Angouridis has published extensively on topics like statin-induced diabetes, lipoprotein profiles, and oxidative stress mitigation. His work has been recognized through awards including a scholarship from the Hellenic Atherosclerosis Society. He has also contributed to institutional committees, including roles at the University Hospital of Ioannina’s Scientific Committee and Research and Clinical Trials Committee.

His academic advising and grant activities include leading clinical trials and collaborating on research projects funded by external organizations. He is involved in the Outpatient Lipid Clinic at the University Hospital of Ioannina, focusing on lipid disorder management and patient care innovations.
