Arif BARAN

Prof. Dr. Arif BARAN is a faculty member at Sakarya University's Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on heterocyclic chemistry, sulfur-containing compounds, and the synthesis of bioactive molecules targeting enzymes like carbonic anhydrase and glycosidases.

• Research Interests: Designing fluorescent chemosensors for metal ions (e.g., Cu²⁺, Al³⁺), developing novel phthalocyanine derivatives with anticancer properties, and exploring structure-activity relationships in heterocyclic and carbocyclic systems.
