Arie van Roon

Arie van Roon is a Professor in the Department of Vascular Medicine (VASC) within the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Groningen. His research focuses on cardiovascular physiology, vascular access techniques, and the long-term effects of cancer treatments on cardiovascular health. Key areas of expertise include blood pressure regulation, heart rate variability, and telomere biology in oncology patients.

His recent work explores diagnostic strategies for vascular conditions like giant cell arteritis, innovative approaches to vascular access failure using covered stents, and the genetic and phenotypic links between autonomic function and cardiovascular outcomes. Collaborations span clinical trials, translational research, and large-scale epidemiological studies.
