Arianna Rigamonti

Arianna Rigamonti is a doctoral student at the Royal College of Music, focusing on Material Culture and Music under the supervision of Professor Gabriele Rossi Rognoni. Her research examines fantastic and marvellous musical instruments in Early Modern Europe, emphasizing their symbolism and cultural roles.

She holds a Master's degree in Musicology from the Department of Musicology and Cultural Heritage in Cremona, University of Pavia, Italy. Her career includes internships at St Cecilia’s Hall in Edinburgh (2017) and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam (2019-2020), where she contributed to interdisciplinary studies of historical instruments.

Her publications include a 2025 co-authored paper on visitor experience methodologies at the RCM Museum. Research interests span organology, musicology, cultural heritage, and museum studies, with a focus on historical instruments’ societal impact.

As a violinist, Arianna completed studies at Gaetano Donizetti Conservatory (Bergamo, 2016) and performed with orchestral and chamber ensembles in Italy. She collaborates on projects like MINIM-UK and Materialising Musical Instruments at RCM.
