Ariane Marelli

Ariane Marelli is a Senior Scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. She leads the Cardiovascular Health Across the Lifespan Program at RI-MUHC, focusing on adult congenital heart disease (CHD) care and health services research.

Her research involves analyzing large databases like the Quebec Congenital Heart Disease Database (150,000+ patients, 1983-2017) to inform policy and improve care delivery. Collaborations include the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and global CHD databases. She has developed health information technology tools to enhance CHD care quality and authored key guidelines for CHD management in Canada and internationally.

Recent publications address CHD epidemiology, cancer risks in CHD patients, heart failure prediction models, and transitions from pediatric to adult CHD care. Her work emphasizes precision health services and digital interventions for lifelong CHD patients.
