Ari Gabinet is a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University. He holds expertise in securities law, regulatory enforcement, and legal policy. With over 30 years in securities law, he has served as a trial lawyer, SEC regulator, and corporate general counsel.
His career includes leadership roles: head of the SEC’s Philadelphia office (2002–2005), overseeing 100+ staff; General Counsel at Oppenheimer Funds (2010–2015); and legal leadership roles at Vanguard. He teaches IAPA1700M (Law and Public Policy) and IAPA 1804D (Legal Methods for Public Policy).
Research focuses on law enforcement in financial sectors, regulatory frameworks, and innovation in legal operations. He frequently speaks on securities regulation and management strategies.
