Areti Lagiou

Areti Lagiou is a Professor of Epidemiology, Disease Prevention, and Public Health at the University of West Attica. She serves as the Dean of the School of Public Health and Chair of the Department of Public and Community Health, while also directing the Laboratory of Hygiene and Epidemiology and the MSc program in 'Epidemiology and Health Promotion'.

Her research focuses on epidemiology, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion, supported by two NSRF-funded projects and collaborations in national and international studies. She has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications, with 95 indexed in MEDLINE and ISI, and a Google Scholar h-index of 30 as of September 2022. She has contributed to books, including 'Epidemiology and Health Promotion – Behavioral Epidemiology'.
