April Savoy

Dr. April Savoy is an Assistant Professor at Purdue University's Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering. Her research focuses on improving healthcare systems through human-centered design of health information technologies. She examines how cognitive engineering principles can enhance clinical decision support systems, situation awareness in medical contexts, and health information exchange infrastructures.

Her work bridges industrial engineering methodologies with healthcare applications, particularly exploring how usability engineering can improve patient safety and clinical workflows. Current projects investigate how health IT interfaces affect diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning in complex medical environments.
