April A. Arvan

April A. Arvan, Ph.D., serves as Athletic Director and Professor of Sport Management & Leadership at Lakeland University. She holds a B.S. in Secondary Education and Broad Field Social Studies (1993) and M.Ed. (1995) from Lakeland, followed by a Ph.D. in Education from Northcentral University (2010).

Arvan is Lakeland's most successful women's basketball coach with a 266-84 record (1994–2007), winning eight conference titles and five NCAA Division III tournament berths. Her NCAA involvement includes presenting on student-athlete leadership and athletics administration at national conferences. Since 2007, she has taught over a dozen courses across multiple departments.

Her professional focus spans athletic administration, leadership development in sports, and institutional athletics policies. Arvan's work emphasizes bridging campus and athletic department collaboration, reflected in her NCAA workshops and institutional leadership roles.
