Aoife-Marie Foran

Dr. Aoife-Marie Foran is an Honorary Fellow at the School of Psychology, University of Queensland, affiliated with the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. Her research spans social psychology, health psychology, and public health, focusing on group identity, mental health, and crisis response.

• Current Supervision: Associate Advisor for PhD research on culinary education's impact on adolescent psychosocial wellbeing.

Research Interests:
Her work examines how social identities influence health behaviors (e.g., vaccine uptake, eating disorders) and psychological resilience during life transitions. She investigates the role of group membership in mitigating distress from adverse experiences, such as sexual assault at mass gatherings.

Publications (2020–2025):
Her research explores intersections between social identity theory, mental health outcomes, and public health crises. Recent studies address conspiracy beliefs' impact on vaccination, identity transitions in university students, and systemic stigma in eating disorder recovery.
