Anya Plutynski is Professor of Philosophy at Washington University, specializing in history and philosophy of biology and medicine. Her award-winning research examines philosophical questions in cancer science, biomedical ethics, and risk communication.
She received the 2021 Lakatos Award for her book Explaining Cancer: Finding Order in Disorder, which analyzes conceptual challenges in cancer research. Current research investigates:

- Historical development of The Cancer Genome Atlas
