Anya Arthurs

Dr. Anya Arthurs is a Future Making Fellow at the University of Adelaide's School of Biomedicine and Robinson Research Institute. She leads the Trophoblast Genomics and Molecular Biology Laboratory (TrophoGen Laboratory), focusing on placental biology, non-coding RNAs, and reproductive health. Her research aims to elucidate mechanisms underlying placental development and identify diagnostic tools and therapeutic targets for pregnancy complications like preeclampsia.

• Education: PhD from University of Newcastle (field: post-transcriptional modifications in placenta).
• Postdoctoral Work: 2019–present at Flinders University studying non-coding RNAs in placental development.
• Current Roles: Supervises projects on trophoblast identity and in vitro preeclamptic models. Eligible to co-supervise HDR students.
