António Teodoro is a Full Professor of Sociology of Education and Comparative Education at Lusofona University, Lisbon, and Director of its Institute of Education. He holds a PhD (1999) and 'Agregação' (2009) in Comparative Education. A pivotal figure in Portuguese educational reform, he was instrumental in democratizing education post-1974 Revolution, serving as Chief-Inspector of Primary Education and leader in teachers' unions (FENPROF). He founded the Institute of Education and led R&D initiatives like the Ibero-American Network for Education Policy Research (RIAIPE). His research focuses on globalization's impact on education, OECD policies, and teacher identities. Key publications include critiques of PISA and neoliberal education reforms.
