Antti Haapala

Antti Haapala is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Sustainable Technology, Faculty of Science, Forestry and Technology, University of Eastern Finland. He leads the Sustainable Technologies education program and focuses on wood and woody biomass within the forest bioeconomy framework, emphasizing green solutions for wood modification, preservation, fire retardancy, and chemical biorefining. His work extends to nanocellulose applications and fiber processing innovations.
