About
Dr Antonis Sergis is a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London's Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on thermofluids, nanofluids, and energy systems, with particular emphasis on high-heat-flux management in fusion reactors and dental aerosol mitigation during the COVID-19 pandemic. He holds a PhD from Imperial College London and degrees from the University of Cambridge.
Education:
- PhD in Heat Transfer in Nanofluids, Imperial College London (2009-2013)
- MA (Cantab) in Aerothermal and Aerospace Engineering, University of Cambridge (2008-2015)
- MEng in Aerothermal and Aerospace Engineering, University of Cambridge (2008-2015)
- BA in Aerothermal and Aerospace Engineering, University of Cambridge (2005-2008)
Research Interests: Dr Sergis investigates advanced heat transfer methods, nanofluids for high-heat-flux applications, and low-carbon energy systems. His work includes aerosol dynamics in dental settings, numerical modeling of energy vectors (e.g., ammonia), and fusion reactor cooling via Molecular Dynamics simulations.
