Antonio LEACI

Antonio LEACI is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Physics "Ennio De Giorgi" at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Salento. He has been a faculty member since November 1, 1994, specializing in Mathematical Analysis (MAT/05 sector).

Professor LEACI's research focuses on Mathematical Analysis with particular emphasis on Calculus of Variations, Image Recognition, and Image Processing with applications in medicine and industry. His work includes variational problems with multiple scales and mathematical techniques for image processing. His research has been supported by MURST and PRIN projects, demonstrating significant contributions to his field.

Professor LEACI has served in various leadership roles including Director of the Department of Mathematics (1995-2001), Coordinator of the Teaching Committee of the Doctoral Program in Mathematics (2010-2012), and Director of the Doctoral School at the University of Salento (2012-2019). He is currently an active member of the Academic Senate (elected January 2019) and serves on the Italian Commission for the Teaching of Mathematics of the UMI and the Permanent Teaching Commission of the Italian Physical Society.
