Antoni Olszewski

Antoni Olszewski serves as a Lecturer at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where he contributes to music education through performance instruction and ensemble direction. His academic affiliation is deeply intertwined with his active career as a professional musician across European jazz circuits.

Olszewski's educational foundation was established at the F. Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where he specialized in Jazz and Performing Arts with a concentration in Jazz Double Bass. This training forms the bedrock of his pedagogical and artistic practice.

His artistic focus centers on avant-garde jazz expression and contemporary ensemble work, with particular expertise in double bass and bass guitar techniques across improvisational contexts. Olszewski bridges traditional jazz forms with experimental soundscapes through his performance practice, emphasizing rhythmic innovation and textural exploration in modern ensemble settings.

Professional recognition includes a second prize at the 20th Big Band Festival in Nowy Tomyśl achieved with the Academy's Big Band.

Olszewski maintains significant performance commitments as core member of Vadim Brodsky's violin ensemble and regular collaborator with Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz. His touring history spans major festivals including Athens Technopolis Jazz Festival, Preveza Jazz Festival (Greece), Enjoy Jazz Festival (Germany), Jazzbląg Festival, and Lidzbark Jazz Evenings (Poland) with groups such as the Contemporary Noise Sextet and Eljazz Big Band featuring vocalist Karen Edwards.
