Anton Vander Zee is an Associate Professor and Chair at the College of Charleston and a Faculty Fellow in the Honors College. He directs the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards and contributes to the Honors First-Year Experience program.

His research focuses on 19th and 20th-century American literature, particularly Walt Whitman, and explores intersections of poetry and poetics, transnational modernism, age studies, and first-year pedagogy. Recent publications analyze Whitman's critical legacy and self-narration pedagogy.
Dr. Vander Zee has received the ExCEL Award for Outstanding Faculty and collaborative RPG Research Presentation Award, alongside teaching innovation grants. He teaches courses ranging from Walt Whitman Seminars to Contemporary American Poetry.
