Antoine Guitton

Prof. Antoine Guitton is a Full Professor at Université de Lorraine and an Adjunct Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Materials Science and Engineering. He leads the LEM3 laboratory, a CNRS-affiliated research center focused on materials physics and engineering. His teaching spans both institutions, covering advanced materials, mechanics, and microstructure characterization.

He holds a PhD in Materials Physics from Université de Poitiers (2013) and an HDR (Habilitation) from Université de Lorraine (2022). His research emphasizes crystalline defects, electron microscopy, and sustainable materials for energy transitions, including hydrogen storage and nuclear applications. He oversees funded projects like MAMIENOVA (machine learning in micromechanics) and AddMorePower (semiconductor materials).

Prof. Guitton actively promotes science popularization through educational initiatives like the ORION research club and Met’Hy (hydrogen-focused student projects). His academic roles include leadership in LEM3’s micro-mechanics team and governance at ENIM. He has served as a reviewer for prestigious journals like Acta Materialia and the European Research Council.
