Anthony Provatas is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Connecticut and the Head of the Organics Environmental Analytical Laboratory at the Center for Environmental Sciences and Engineering (CESE). He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut (2002 and 1998, respectively) and a B.S. in Chemistry from Aristotle University (1992). Prior to his current role, he worked as a Research Scientist at Pfizer Inc. from 2001 to 2009.

He also specializes in trace-level analysis of bioactive molecules in complex matrices (food, water, biological fluids) and supports industrial hemp research, assessing pesticides, mycotoxins, and terpenes at ultra-trace levels.
