Anthony Jenkins

Anthony Jenkins is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at STM College. His academic background includes a BA (Honours) in Mathematics and Philosophy from McMaster University (1991), an MA in Philosophy from McMaster (1993), and PhD coursework (ABD) at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on Logic and History of Logic, Philosophy of Mathematics, Metaphysics, and figures like Bertrand Russell, Frege, Wittgenstein, Aquinas, and Aristotle.

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Introduction to Philosophy (Phil 110, 120, 133), Modern Symbolic Logic (Phil 241), Aristotelian Logic (Phil 240), Critical Thinking (Phil 140), and topics in Environmental Philosophy and Biomedical Ethics. He has also presented on skepticism, including a 2011 talk titled “Skepticism and the Future of Philosophy” at the University of Saskatchewan’s “Philosophy and the Community” series.

Administratively, he contributed to revising STM’s Philosophy Department Logic Requirement in 2007. His research projects include Logical Pluralism, Non-Existent Objects, and the Nature of Truth.
