Anthony Hamilton

Anthony Hamilton is a Continuing Studies Instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). He holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an MFA in Studio Art from Illinois State University. His interdisciplinary practice explores the relationship between media and affect, employing installation, curatorial projects, photography, video, and immersive environments to analyze personal histories and mythologies through emotional resonance.

Research interests include the intersection of media technology and human emotion, with projects addressing family narratives, archival materials, and sensory engagement. His work often combines unconventional mediums like Spaghetti Western aesthetics, antiquated photographic techniques, and food-based installations to evoke intimate storytelling. Hamilton’s installations aim to create spaces for re-evaluating memory and cultural narratives through quiet, reflective experiences.
