Anthony Fontenot is Professor of Architectural History and Theory at Woodbury University's School of Architecture. His research examines relationships between modern design, urban ecology, and social landscapes through historical and curatorial practice.
Fontenot has authored influential books including Non-Design: Architecture, Liberalism, and the Market (2022) and Notes from Another Los Angeles: Gregory Ain and the Construction of a Social Landscape (2022). Current research focuses on James Homer Garrott, an underrecognized African American modernist architect.
Award recognition includes fellowships from the Getty Research Institute, Woodrow Wilson Foundation, and Canadian Centre for Architecture.
