University of Texas Southwestern Medical CenterAbout
Anthony Davis is Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, leading research on DNA damage responses with implications for cancer therapy resistance.
Education includes:
- Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from UT Southwestern
- B.S. in Biochemistry and Microbiology from University of Oklahoma
Research examines cellular responses to DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), particularly how cancer cells develop resistance to chemotherapy and radiation. The lab investigates aberrant DSB repair pathways and neomorphic mechanisms for managing DNA replication stress. Current projects explore carbon ion radiotherapy sensitization and kinase inhibitor combinations.
Recent publications focus on DNA repair pathway modulation, including non-homologous end joining in chromothripsis and dual ATR/DNA-PKcs inhibition strategies. The Davis Lab employs biochemical, genetic, and radiobiological approaches to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities.
