About
Anthony Challinor is a Professor of Cosmology and Astrophysics at the University of Cambridge. He serves as Deputy Director of the Institute of Astronomy and the Kavli Institute for Cosmology, Cambridge, with Bye-Fellow status at Queens' College. His research focuses on physical and theoretical cosmology, particularly the origin and interpretation of temperature anisotropies and polarization in the cosmic microwave background (CMB), lensing of the CMB, and constraints on cosmological parameters. He is a core team member of the Planck High-Frequency Instrument and part of the Simons Observatory, seeking gravitational wave-induced B-mode polarization in the CMB.
Challinor teaches Relativity in Part-II Physics and has held senior examiner roles for NST Mathematics and Astrophysics. He has supervised 12 PhD students and one MPhil student. His contact email is adc1000@cam.ac.uk and phone number 01223 335613.
