About
Anthony Burrow is the Ferris Family Associate Professor of Life Course Studies in Cornell University's Department of Psychology and Director of the Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research. As Associate Dean for Outreach and Extension in the College of Human Ecology and Provost's Fellow for Public Engagement, he bridges academic research with community application.
His research investigates two primary domains: 1) How purpose in life serves as psychological resource promoting positive adjustment and stress resilience throughout development, and 2) How racial identity formation influences perceptions of everyday experiences and psychological adjustment among ethnic minorities. Through the Purpose and Identity Processes Laboratory, he examines protective factors for vulnerable populations.
As director of PRYDE (Program for Research on Youth Development and Engagement), he partners with 4-H communities to conduct translational research on positive youth development, creating science-service linkages to enhance youth programming and outcomes.
