Ante Mimica

Ante Mimica (20.1.1981–9.6.2016) was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. He completed his PhD in 2009 with a thesis on Harnack inequalities for Lévy processes and held a postdoc position at Bielefeld University (2011–2012). His research focused on probabilistic potential theory, including Harnack inequalities, jump processes, and heat kernel estimates. He contributed to studies on Lévy processes, subordinate Brownian motions, and nonlocal operators. Mimica received the 2013 Faculty of Science Award and lectured on stochastic processes, financial modeling, and advanced probability. He engaged in visiting research at institutions worldwide and authored numerous influential papers. His legacy includes rigorous mathematical work despite health challenges.
