Anson Tan

Dr Anson Tan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute, University of Queensland, specializing in molecular mechanisms of membrane trafficking in neurons. His work explores how dysregulated trafficking contributes to neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., ALS, Alzheimer's) and neuropsychiatric disorders.

• Research Interests: Synaptic transmission, protein sorting, DNA repair in neurodegeneration

Scientific Awards include the UQ Postdoctoral Researcher Retention Fellowship (2022), Dean’s Honour List (University of Melbourne, 2012), and Best Poster Award (COMBIO 2015). He has published extensively on Golgi trafficking, amyloid processing, and calcium signaling in synaptic plasticity.

Dr Tan is currently affiliated with the Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research and advises on projects related to epigenetic regulation of memory, synaptic signaling, and Copine-6 lipid-binding mechanisms. He collaborates with Professor Victor Anggono and Dr Jocelyn Widagdo on neurotrafficking studies.
