Anran Luo

Anran Luo is a Post-Doc Researcher at the Department of Environmental Politics, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research − UFZ (Leipzig, Germany) since July 2022. Previously, he was a Scientific Researcher at the same department from November 2021 to April 2022, and completed his PhD at the University of Freiburg (2017-2022) on China-EU circular economy discourse.

Recent publications highlight his expertise in Sino-European environmental collaboration, political gridlock in circular economy implementation, and the role of narratives in shaping policy outcomes. His work appears in journals like Ambio, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Global Environmental Change.

Currently involved in projects such as Governance Monitor (GoMo), nanoINHALE, Climate Collaboratorium, and SynCom SPHERE, Luo contributes to advancing understanding of sustainable resource governance and systemic environmental policy analysis.
