Anouk de Koning

Anouk de Koning is Professor in the Programme group 'Moving Matters: People, Goods, Power and Ideas' at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, University of Amsterdam. Her research examines welfare states, social citizenship, migration, and urban anthropology with focus on postcolonial Europe.

Her scholarly work explores bureaucratic processes affecting migrants, welfare state transformations, and urban inequalities. Publications demonstrate consistent focus on how state institutions shape migrant experiences and social rights in European cities.
