About
Annie Temmink is a Lecturer in Drama at the University of Virginia. She is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose practice bridges costume design, sculpture, painting, and performance, with a focus on materiality, psychology, and movement. Her work explores deeply embodied inner-psychological states through constructed environments and wearable art.
She received a BA in Sculpture and Math from Davidson College. Her research integrates ecological and ancient fabrication methods with modern processes, inspired by a Watson Fellowship studying traditional textile design with master craftsfolk in Indonesia, Japan, India, Uganda, Ghana, and Tanzania.
